How to use:
After shaping and sanding filler on a repaired panel, high-build primer is
applied over the repair zone to fill sanding marks and minor low spots.
For example, on a rear quarter where new filler meets old paint, a high-build
primer is sprayed to smooth the transition and ensure invisible blending.
On a panel that may show slight unevenness after filler primer, high-build
primer is used to “bury” imperfections, then block-sanded to achieve
flatness. It is applied similarly to the Urethane 2k primer process.
Why we use it:
Creates a smooth, uniform surface. Builds sufficient film thickness for
block sanding. Eliminates minor imperfections before topcoat and
reduces the risks of “mapping” through the paint layers. Creates a
consistent, uniform substrate for colour application.
